 As an adoptive parent, options counselor, MSW student, and adoption trainer, I thought I knew a lot about adoption. I could not believe how much I have gotten out of this program.  I work with high-risk teens. For these girls, many pregnancies are unplanned and unwanted. Just last week, I helped a young mother-to-be in making a decision to make an adoption plan.

I found the parts of the training that dealt with pursuing the adoption option with clients most helpful. Interaction exercises were always beneficial, and the time with birthmothers was, of course, touching and reinforced the whole training. It was wonderful to be pampered as we were with meals and accommodations.
