One Day Trainings    

The one-day trainings are specifically designed to educate staff members who are interested in learning some basic yet important infant adoption information. Upon completion of the one-day training, the attendee will be equipped to offer basic adoption information to his or her clients, refer clients in an effective and efficient manner, and promote fully informed decision-making.  The topics covered are: adoption knowledge and attitudes, the adoption process, accurate adoption language, critical thinking, non-directive techniques, resources and community referrals.  Six (6) hours of continuing education are awarded in one-day trainings.

Two Day Trainings    

The two-day trainings provide opportunity for advanced study.  The curriculum is designed to provide a thorough understanding of the legal, emotional, psychological, and social processes of adoption.  The topics covered are: history of adoption practice, adoption procedures and laws, understanding social, cultural and personal influences on adoption decision-making, non-directive techniques, resources and community referrals.

Lodging and a meal stipend are provided to participants in a two-day training. Participants in the two-day training also become eligible to host an on-site one-day training. Twelve to thirteen (12-13) hours of continuing education are awarded in two-day trainings.
