Frequently Asked Questions

How do I schedule a training at my facility?

You can register online, or  call the Infant Adoption Training Initiative office at 1-866-21-ADOPT.

What is the format of the NCFA Infant Adoption Awareness training?

We offer one- and two-day training options. The two-day trainings provide opportunity for advanced study and are designed for supervisors and policy-makers within an organization, while the one-day training is for everyone. Lodging and a meal stipend are provided to all participants in a two-day training.  Participants in the two-day training also become eligible to host an onsite one-day training.   Thirteen (13) and six (6) hours of continuing education are awarded in two- and one-day trainings, respectively.

Trainings begin at 9:00 a.m. and go until 5:00 p.m. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Are Continuing Education Units (CEUs) available for attending an NCFA  training?

Yes, continuing education units are available for nurses and social workers. Thirteen (13) and six (6) hours of continuing education are awarded in two- and one-day trainings, respectively.

What trainees are saying ...

As an adoptive parent, options counselor, MSW student, and adoption traininer, I thought I knew a lot about adoption. I could not believe how much I have gotten out of this program. And I am so excited to see other professionals who are ambivalent about adoption start really considering it and talking about it with their clients.
